The Portugal Golden Visa program is a fast-track residency permit offered to non-EU investors who make a minimum investment in Portugal, as determined by the government.

The program covers the investor’s family and provides benefits such as social life in Portugal. The program is administered by the AICEP through the SEF.

To apply for a residency permit under the Golden Visa program, the investor must make a qualifying investment, such as a capital transfer of 1 million Euro or a real estate investment of half a million Euro.

There are also options for supporting scientific or technological research, artistic or cultural activities, small and medium businesses, or creating jobs. Additional requirements include a passport, proof of legal entry, health insurance, police clearance, and social security registration.

Family members are eligible, the investor can travel in the Schengen area, apply for permanent residency in 3 years, and receive benefits such as social, medical, education, work, and business permissions, and tax-free income from abroad.
